Denby Dale Railway Station and Viaduct.

Denby Dale Railway Station and Viaduct is a set of 14 pictures taken in May 2016 using a Nikon d3300 SLR camera. There are 10 available to see here and on Flickr with an additional 4 exclusive to Clickasnap.

Denby Dale Railway Station.

Denby Dale is a single platform station that sits at the northern end of a 21 arch viaduct that carries the Penistone line across the valley. The station opened as a 2 platform operation in 1850 by the Huddersfield and Sheffield Junction Railway company, and was reduced to a single platform operation in 1969. Disabled access is difficult and the station has limited facilities. Trains operate hourly in both directions during the week and 2 hourly on a Sunday.

All 4 of the above pictures are exclusive to Clickasnap and can only be seen there. They are free to view and every view of over 10 seconds helps to support my photography and blog as I receive a small payment from them. The following pictures are taken from my Flickr album.

Ibiza Sunset 15

Ibiza sunset 15 is a new album of pictures recently uploaded to Flickr. They were taken on the evening of July 16 2014 at 4 minute intervals as the sun set over the Mediterranean. At the time I was staying in Portinatx on the northern coast of Ibiza, and I think nearly every night the sunsets where worth watching.

These pictures can be seen either here or on Flickr. Some additional pictures taken outside the 4 minute intervals will be available shortly to view on Clickasnap.

Woodside Mill Lock Overflows.

There isn't really a lot I can add to this other than recently whilst walking along the canal from Elland to Salterhebble I was passing Woodside Mill Lock which was once again overflowing. Usually it's the lower gate that flows over but the lock had recently been used so was refilling with the upper gate now acting as a small waterfall. I spent a few short moments filming it with my Samsung Tablet and this is the resulting short video.

The Tamar Bridge and Saltash Tunnel. Devon and Cornwall.

I consider my you videos as a small extension of my photography, I have always wanted to picture the Tamar Bridges, as yet not had the opportunity so recently passing over the road bridge I took the film from my dash cam recording the crossing and passing through the tunnel.

The Tamar Road Bridge crossers the River Tamar connecting Cornwall with Devon. The bridge is a partial toll bridge with only eastbound traffic charged. Originally opened in April 1962 and sits alongside the Royal Albert Bridge which carries the railway across the river. The bridge underwent extensive refurbishment from 1999 until 2001 having been found to be under strength due to new European legislation for goods vehicle requirements.

Shortly after passing over the bridge I passed through the Saltash Tunnel in Cornwall which can also be seen. Built to last 100 years and opened in 1988 it carries the A38 through a 410m tunnel. Although built to last 100 years within months of opening the tunnel the water which was saturating down through the hill had began to seep through the tunnel lining, the tunnel had to go an extensive refurbishment scheme to combat this.

This was filmed on the 27th March 2018. The background music featured is Cavern by Hovatoff.

Elvis Presley. The Top 5.

At the moment I am just trying a couple of different things out for my YouTube channel, this includes uploading a video featuring parts of Beethoven's symphony No.7, part 2 Allegreto. Another recent video I have done is an Elvis Presley top5 UK singles.

Elvis was without doubt ne of the biggest music stars ever with many hit records, but as this was a first ever attempt at anything like this I wanted to concentrate on a small amount so thought why not his top 5. I edited short sections of his songs together to make a 4min 15sec film, the background photos are all taken from the internet and I found them after searching for Elvis pictures available under a creative commons with modification licence. The songs featured also have copyright which belongs to third parties not me. Any ads placed over the video are at the third parties request and all revenues from the video will be paid to them.

The songs featured are in order from lowest to highest,

Symphony No. 7 / 2 Allegreto - Beethoven.

A video on YouTube that I uploaded this morning featuring Beethoven's Symphony No.7. / 2 Allegretto performed by the Wiener Philharmonic conducted by Leonard Bernstein. It just happens to be a favourite piece music of mine so I have put a slideshow of images featuring Ludwig Van Beethoven (All obtained under a Creative Commons Licence) to the music. This is just something different I wanted to try. I do not own the copyright to the music so any adverts that overlay will go to the copyright owner.

The symphony was written in 4 movements by Beethoven between 1811 and 1812. He was in the Bohemian town of Teplice recovering his health and the work is dedicated to Count Moritz von Fries. Beethoven conducted the premier of the work himself at a charity concert for soldiers injured during the Battle of Hanau, the date was December 8th 1813.
